So I need to find a place to perform my presentation. I would like to present before May 10th if possible. I don't really have a preference as long as it's in central Houston and easy to locate. I need to start doing some research on places that I could perform. If anyone has any ideas please let me know. I will be posting up my ideas of my presentation soon.
For some reason the first place that I thought where you could present is Miller Outdoor Theatre. I know it may be hard and a pretty big leap of possibly getting a chance to perform there but I looked on their website and there is contact information: they give their number, fax... (http://www.milleroutdoortheatre.com/contact/).
ReplyDeleteWhere do you like to sing? Where do you feel inspired to sing? I think that it would be really nice to hear you perform in a place where you really feel passionate about singing and somewhere that you love.
Good luck in finding a place and I can't wait!
I don't really know of a place for you to perform, but what you could do is rent a restaurant or a small hall and reserve it for a private party where you would invite your guests to watch you perform. My sister had a graduation party at a small cafe in the southeast called Cafe Flores. They had a musical performance there, and I know it would be possible for you. I think that's the best way to perform with class for your panel members so that they and you enjoy the AC, and get to eat while they watch you.
ReplyDeleteBy the way thanks for that website you referred me to. I didn't know a project like that was taking place. Honestly it boosted my hope that doing something good, no matter what your status is, gets recognition.
I hope you already planned everything, well at least started to, and it's hard to find a place in Houston. But anyway, for some reason I got the idea of maybe you can perform in Discovery Green. I mean whether or not you are to do it publicly, which I think you are, you should look into that place since many people go there and enjoy a nice evening. I have always admired your singing and I believe you'll do well, but you should look into the reservations and when you are willing to do it and fast, since you know this world is run by schedules and time.
ReplyDeleteI provided the links below so you can take a look:

I hope all goes well. Keep it up!
P.S. This is only a suggestion. Maybe you ca do a video or audio file and post it on your blog to get a taste of your singing ability. I think it'll be helpful and attract attention.
Have you ever attended an open mic event? This is where anyone who wants to perform...performs.
ReplyDeleteHere is a web site that lists open mic venues in Houston. http://www.openmichouston.com/EventListing
Thank you guys. I have tried contacting all these places. I have run into some problems; some don't get back to me, and some simply just haven't answered. But I will keep trying. If anymore locations come to mind please let me know.
ReplyDeleteAnd nick, you are welcome and I'm glad it helped!
